Thione Seck Denied Bail Once Again: As Senegalese Justice Minister Reassured His Lawyers of Free and Fair Trial

The Senegalese Minister of Justice has invited the lead lawyers of Thione Seck, the leader of Raam Daan Group who is currently detained in prison without bail since his arrest to trust the justice system of Senegal.

Asked about the action brought by the advice of the singer who attacked the procedure, the Minister of Justice Mr. Sidiki Kaba said: “It is their right, but the state of Senegal is an organized state that obeys the operating principles of good justice. There are judges, who would apply the law to judge accordingly and they should trust them!

Thione Seck is in prison since 2 June and he was charged for criminal conspiracy, forgery, counterfeiting, alteration of current monetary signs, money laundering and attempted fraud. The judge’s second instruction was jailed cabinet with a Malian national. According to police, the singer and his partner were in possession of counterfeit notes worth 42 billion CFA francs. But since his arrest Thione Seck continues to maintain his innocence, claiming to be the victim of fraud and maraboutage.
At his hearing in June 30 background, the father of Ballago Waly Seck reiterated his innocence and went as far as accusing people lurking in the shadows. Which have conspired against him to harm him and break the career of his son. His lawyers had reported his condition to hope for a bail , however, this was rejected. They then appealed to the Indictment Division because they feel that the investigators did not meet their client’s rights at the beginning of his arrest.
