The tyranny and dictatorship in the Gambia have gotten to a point that requires the efforts of all and sundry. Since when Yahya Jammeh overthrows the democratically elected government led by Sir Dawda Kairaba Jawara on the 22nd July 1994, the Gambia has never been the same again.

People have been burnt alive, tortured to death, raped, imprisoned, journalists murdered, women are made widows, children are made fatherless, families, communities and tribes have been permanently divided and damaged, the list is endless.

However, what is certain is that, unless we as Gambians find the urge to stand and liberate our country from Yahya Jammeh’s 22 years of moral, social and economic decadence, sadly the once beautiful and smiley country will eventually be wrecked to pieces in our very eyes.

As a result, all Gambians and human rights activists are being notified of a protest in London and Edinburgh on Friday, July 22nd to denounce Jammeh’s dictatorship.

The protest will be used to highlight the catalogue of human rights violations over the past 22 years, which MUST STOP, the recent killing of Solo Sandeng, the continued incarceration of Ousainou Darbo & Co and many more.

The protest is planned to be held outside the Nigerian High Commission. This will be an opportunity to highlight the role of Nigerian Judges who continue to hand unconstitutional judgements at the expense of law abiding Gambian citizens. A petition will be handed out to them and this will be followed by a press conference.

We’re urging all Gambians, Friends and Activists to assemble at the Trafalgar Square, London outside the South Africa House by 12 Midday. The protest march to the Nigerian High Commission will commence soon after prayers and chanting.

12:00 – Meet up at Trafalgar Square (Outside South Africa House) followed by Prayers and Chanting
13:00 – March to Nigerian High Commission (Address – 9 Northumberland Ave, London WC2N 5BX)
14:30 – March to Press Conference Venue (TBC)

Nearest tube station: London Charing Cross
